A Civil Engineering PhD with emphasis in Computational Mechanics. A Structural Engineering M.Sc. with emphasis in Computational Mechanics obtained in 2002 by the State University of Campinas. Undergraduate Civil Engineer by the State University of Campinas. With a deep knowledge in object oriented programming applied on the development of numerical methods. In his first years as a Civil Engineer worked with airspace infra-structure projects and planning. During his under graduation course worked on the development of a simulator for ESCA`s CBERS satellite solar panels. Developed his PhD thesis on the parallelization of a hp mesh adaptation strategy for Finite Element Methods. As researcher worked along with Professor Philippe Devloo (UNICAMP/FEC) on the development of technology projects for companies such as Petrobras, Embraer, Commodity Systems, Tenneco Automotive, Hurner do Brasil etc. After his PhD, and since August 2007 is fully dedicated to technical-administrative activities at SimWorx Engineering Research and Development to which is also a co-founder and director.
Eng. M.Sc. Gustavo Camargo Longhin
Currently part of the Ph.D. program at the State University of Campinas Civil Engineering Institute. With a Masters degree in Structural Engineering with emphasis in Computational Mechanics by UNICAMP in 2001. Under graduated Civil Engineer by the UNICAMP in 1997. Possess a large experience on development and design of object oriented systems, also a good experience on database design and modeling of system’s architecture with UML. During his under graduation worked as a trainee for the Slovenian Railways (Liubljana – Slovenia) on the development of graphical user interface for geographical information system application (GIS). Also during his under graduation worked as trainee for the Civil Engineering Faculty at Kaiserslautern University (Kaiserslautern – Germany) on the development of a numerical application for assessment of embankments stability. As a Civil Engineer developed applications for reinforced concrete, logistics and optimization. Worked as Software Engineering Manager for Voice Logging company where his hisskills on software engineering were strongly improved. Currently is working on the conclusion of his Ph.D. thesis developing anobject oriented toolkit for parallelization of scientific codes. As researcher worked along with Professor Philippe Devloo (UNICAMP/FEC) on the development of technology projects for companies such asPetrobras, Commodity Systems, Embraer, Vallourec& Mannesmann, Tenneco Automotive, etc. He is a co-founder and projects director of SimWorx Engineering Research and Development.
Eng. D.Sc. Tiago Luis Duarte Forti
Civil Engineer by the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2002, with a Master (2002) and a Doctorate (2010) Degree in Structural Engineering also by UNICAMP. In 2000 was awarded a scholarship to the INSA Engineering Institute in Lyon (France), funded by the CAPES commission where his undergraduation fourth year was completed. Back in UNICAMP worked in a scientific initiation project related to steel towers under supervision of PhD. João Alberto Venegas Requena. Along with the Brazilian company V&M and UNICAMP, developed two applications. One for design automation and structural analysis of Steel Towers using hollow steel sections, and another for structural optimization. Finished his Master’s thesis in Structural Engineering, with emphasis in Computational Mechanics in 2005, working with Discontinuous Galerkin methods under supervision of Professor Philippe Devloo. His Master Degree was funded by a PICTA Fapesp/Embraer project where he collaborated with an implementation of a Dual Time Step Integrator. Also contributed with the integration of a Multigrid method and parallelization of the CFDk/ckers which was a CFD code developed in that effort. His doctoral studies were supervised by Professor Devloo and also related with Computational Mechanics. He concluded his doctorate in 2010. Also worked as researcher under a UNICAMP / Petrobras partnership which developed applications such as Propag and IP3D. Is co-founder of SimWorx Engineering Research and Development and also director of technologies.
