EMR (Ensaio Mecânico de Rocha)

EMR is an expert tool assisting data analysis and post processing of Rock Mechanics laboratory tests.

EMR’s main objectives are minimization of errors in the data interpretation phase (from lab equipment to engineers’ spreadsheets), which is accomplished by EMR assuming the responsibility of parsing, identifying, organizing etc the files provided by lab equipment. And also to establish a process for the analysis and post-processing of Rock Mechanics laboratory tests, from data input, post processing to final report confection.

EMR interprets files generated by lab test equipment suggesting the user which test it is reading, based on the file structure, and for each series of data, in which unit it is being read. That parser implements some sort of a rudimentary Artificial Intelligence allowing EMR to “learn” with the user’s choice of test type, data serie type and unit.

EMR supports Brazilian, Compressibility, Triaxial and UCS (Unconfined Compressive Strength) tests. Some generality exists so that non supported tests, under the user’s responsibility, can have its analysis assisted by EMR.

After interpreting and reading the test’s data, EMR plots the curves regarding each of the read data series and hierarchically organizes them. Assisted by post-processing functionalities EMR computes derivative series according to basic data provided which are then plotted as well. Functionalities for points / interval removal, starting instant reset are available. Generic chart functionalities such as Zoom, Pan, Hide series, export data etc, are also available.
