At SimWorx, we believe that collaboration between industry and academia is essential to driving innovation and creating value that benefits society as a whole. When technical expertise meets scientific research, knowledge transforms into solutions capable of generating real impact.
In this spirit, our team recently visited the UNESP campus in Rio Claro, at the LEBAC laboratory, where researchers presented their ongoing project in partnership with Petronas. We also had the opportunity to share our own project, strengthening the exchange of experiences and technical insights.
Our collaboration with UNESP focuses on basalt studies — a key component of our simulation development. While their team conducts real-world CO₂ injection experiments, we simulate these same processes digitally. This partnership enables a powerful synergy: UNESP provides experimental data to validate our simulation parameters, and we offer our simulation platform for them to test and provide user feedback. By comparing the simulator’s results with real-world outcomes, we can refine our models and deliver even more accurate and effective solutions.

Afterwards, we visited the experimental site in Araraquara, where the team is drilling wells and performing basalt rock characterization. The next stage will involve injecting CO₂ into the central well and monitoring its underground dispersion — generating valuable insights for sustainable innovation in the energy sector.

SimWorx is proud to collaborate with leading academic institutions and research centers, combining knowledge, technology, and science to accelerate the development of high-impact projects and strengthen Brazil’s innovation ecosystem.
