Engineers at Petrobras were looking for a cost effective way

To detect the flow rate distribution along the well by reading output data from sensors in smart completion wells.

Working closely with our client, we developed a two-phase flow software application that analyzes thermal enthalpy data to determine flow rates at each well segment.  Based on data analysis our application also distinguishes between hydrocarbons and water production, and the volume of each within the flow rate.

Petrobras uses the application to improve well productivity and lower well operating cost by isolating and reducing the flow of water from well segments with high water/oil ratio.
