The Matrix software is a computational simulator developed by SimWorx for Petrobras to optimize acid treatments to improve well production.
The software predicts the volumetric and pumping parameters required for the stimulation treatment based on input parameters such as well geometry (vertical, horizontal, slanted), well extension, reservoir properties, and others including:
- Rock characteristics (nature, permeability, heterogeneity, reactivity, etc.)
- Operating parameters (output, acid concentration, treatment volume, etc.)
- Thermodynamic parameters (pressure, temperature, etc.)
This CAE application is used extensively by Petrobras in carbonate pre-salt rock formations with great success.
The Matrix simulator also supports sandstone damage removal treatments.
